The Gyronaut X-1 Trailer by Curt Wallin and John Greene

This short preview captures just a small part of the Gyronaut X-1's history.  We're
looking for sponsors to help bring this historical bike back to its former glory and
the Bonneville Salt Flats.  It deserves a complete restoration and to have its story
told. A big thanks to both Curt Wallin and John Greene, the filmmakers who brought
you the award-winning documentary "The Boys of Bonneville: Racing on a Ribbon
of Salt
", about legendary racer Ab Jenkins and his one-of-a-kind racing Duesenbergs.

Hello. Just found your website - very fascinating! I wish I had the information about Tremulis' work on the Corvettes for the Apollo 12 astronauts in the spring of 2001 when I wrote an article about the car Alan Bean had. (It is the only one of the three cars known to still exist.) At the time I interviewed Bean he did not recall how the custom paint scheme had originated. Since then he seems to have recalled more about it judging by a recent article written by another author for an article in Corvette Magazine. That letter he wrote back in '69 would have filled in all the blanks! By the way, the rocket in the background of the photo with Tremulis and others is a Saturn V. Apollo 7 was launched by a Saturn 1B. Therefore, the photo shows another Apollo on the launch pad. Apollos 4, 6, and 8-17 were launched by Saturn Vs. If the date of the photo is available it would pinpoint which of these is on the launch pad. The monument is not related to Apollo 7 either. It is a monument to the "Mercury 7" or "Original 7" astronauts - Carpenter, Cooper, Glenn, Grissom, Schirra, Shepard, and Slayton. The shape is the symbol for the Roman mythical messenger god, Mercury. By the way, I forward this archive to the current owner of Alan Bean's Vette. He will be very interested to see it.

You see things and say 'Why?'; but I dream things that never were and I say 'Why not?'
